Meet the Author — Alex Moshkovich
I left the Soviet Union as a student with two suitcases and ten dollars earned on my way to Israel. Starting over in an unfamiliar country without knowing the language, I earned a master’s degree in mathematics and computer science and built a successful career. Later, I moved to Canada with my family and three young children to begin again.
In Toronto, I earned a six-figure salary, yet money was always tight. Reading Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad changed my perspective and inspired me to explore real estate investing. After meeting experienced investors and learning a strategy, I took action—purchasing four houses in two years without investing any of my own money.
Despite my professional success, I felt unfulfilled. I wanted financial independence, control over my time, and a business of my own. In 2013, I founded Investor Forum to teach others what I had learned through experience.
Within five years, despite a real estate downturn, my company ranked among the top 1% of real estate companies in Canada. We helped hundreds of clients begin investing while I continued building my portfolio.
With 17 tenants, I achieved financial freedom. But my greatest pride is seeing clients reach that same goal—and sometimes surpass my results.
